Input from stakeholders such as registered nurses, managers, and experts in their field has identified that registered nurses are unfamiliar with intimate partner violence (IPV) in the perinatal time frame, including the prevalence, risk factors, impacts on maternal and fetal/neonatal health, screening recommendations, and resources for those experiencing IPV. Impact of IPV on the mother as well as the developing fetus, application of content by use of scenario-based education, and review of resources available to the caregivers and families will be available in this course.
Requirements for Successful Completion: To receive contact hours for this continuing education activity, the participant must register, watch the entire video, and complete and submit the evaluation form. Once successful completion has been verified, a “Certificate of Successful Completion” will be awarded for 1.0 contact hours.

She has been teaching maternity nursing at UT Austin for 6 years and has been practicing in maternity nursing for 13 years.
